Updating rates via DNS
The converter can update currency rates via DNS.
Even with a limited network connection, for example, in closed Wi-Fi networks or when the mobile internet balance is exhausted, DNS traffic often continues to work.
This allows you to get up-to-date rates even when roaming and without a paid internet connection - for example, just after arriving in a new country or during a layover at the airport.
The rates are stored in the following TXT records:
meta.converter.drusha.me
[current date]@[MD5 hash of data1+data2]
~ nslookup -type=txt meta.converter.drusha.me
meta.converter.drusha.me text = "2025-09-14@82a029f2191fec1d4c4deb54c4c7dbb4"
data1.converter.drusha.me and data2.converter.drusha.me
Currency rates, separated by @, in the same order as presented in the JSON.
~ nslookup -type=txt data1.converter.drusha.me
data1.converter.drusha.me text = "1.0835234192971@3.6725@68.146381@..."
